Now that you’ve gotten past all that, welcome to my politics and general rambling page. You will find from time to time content which strives to illuminate, inform and entertain. I try very hard to present two clearly distinct content styles:

Fact based articles, for which the sources are well identified. I hope to feed the analytical minded, who desire to form opinions and make decisions based on factual input. For these, I encourage you to use the sources to verify and dig deeper still, but be prepared to lose confidence in the mass media and perhaps what you may previously believed to be true.

The second style comprises opinion papers, in which I unashamedly and without apology tell you what I think, feel and believe.

Well, there may be third kind of content: random thoughts and amusements. Since this is my site, I make the rules. Rule #1 is that it has to be fun or it isn’t worth doing. Rule #2 is that it doesn’t have to be political to make the random musings page (random is sufficient). Rule #3 is that I’ll make up the rest of the rules as needed. In any case, I hope to surprise at least some of you from time to time.

If you disagree with something on this site you have many options. Some options include:

• You can simply ignore me. If you choose this option, you are in powerful company, including: Presidents Bush, Clinton and Bush, the majority of members of Congress, the entire board of supervisors of Santa Cruz County, most major news organizations including but not limited to CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, BBC, FOX, and most major newspapers, Al Gore, Rush Limbaugh and/or anyone who sounds like Rush Limbaugh, Nancy Pelosi and the entire original Broadway cast of Cats, just to name just a few.
• You can dig into the source material, challenge the "accepted" conclusions, and choose to form a new conclusion (perhaps still different from mine) based on verifiable facts rather than the claimed consensus of the masses, an option I strongly encourage.
• You can challenge your own objectivity and question the basis for your prior conclusions, consult with your personal God (or your favorite canine companion, for you fellow dyslexics out there), or otherwise indulge in deep introspection.

The choice is entirely up to you.
